Attorney Hannah Durett grew up in the South and moved to Arizona in 8th grade. In high school, she was involved in the theater department, and she enjoyed writing her own stories and her own songs. Hannah received a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Arizona. She then attended Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
During law school, Hannah interned at a disability insurance firm where she saw firsthand how often people in difficult circumstances were not given the relief they were entitled to, despite doing everything right. This created a passion within Hannah to become an advocate for families and individuals who need help fighting for themselves.
Hannah also interned for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, helping with family law cases in a tribal community, with their own laws and procedures. She was involved in helping establish guardianships for neglected children as well as other family law issues within the community.
Hannah’s intern experience at the Arizona Legal Center was eye opening, as she discovered that some attorneys created more conflict for their clients than was necessary or beneficial for those involved. This installed in Hannah a resolve to always act ethically and practice law in a way that best represents and best suits her clients.
Hannah is passionate about service within her community and helping others in need. She is a Christian and regularly attends New Valley Church in Chandler. She has taught weekly Sunday school at her church since 2015. She currently teaches 2nd-3rd grade. Hannah also volunteers as a youth leader and co-leads the middle school girl small group, and helps with events such as youth activities, retreats, and lessons.
She enjoys baking macarons, making homemade pasta and sauces, writing, reading, and watching TV with her mom. She likes to write in the young adult fantasy genre and her dream is to become a published author. She has written one novel and is working on another. Hanna’s favorite movie is Lord of the Rings, Return of the King and her favorite musical artists are Kelly Clarkson, Olivia Rodrigo, and Faouzia. Hannah’s heroes are her parents, who have lived a life of service and Christian values.
